St. Andrew’s 5th-7th Grade Youth & Families

Fall 2026 Season: “God’s Family”

Three Sundays from Noon-2pm, Lunch Included, November 8, 15, 22

Closing Retreat the afternoon-evening of Saturday December 5th with leadership in morning worship Sunday the 6th, Bishop Rob preaching and presiding.

In ancient times, God promised Abraham and Sarah, “In you all the families of the earth will be blessed”. At Jesus’ baptism, God proclaimed, “You are my child, my beloved, with you I am well pleased”. And later Jesus told a surprised crowd (including his mom and sisters and brothers!), “Who are my mother and my brothers? Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”

Our Fall 2026 Season will be a time of “training for life” by recognizing how God’s personal love for you is present right now in your own family, and in the family of the Church. We’ll practice living in that love together as parents and children.

Reverend Reed is leading this focused youth ministry season which will explore the theme of “Family” through scripture study, cooperative games, creative work, and guided conversation. With exploration appropriate to this unique developmental stage, our 5th-7th graders and the parents growing up with them will renew and deepen their:

  • Personal relationship with God, as the loving foundation for a good life in the world

  • Practices of prayer: Individually, as a family, and communally

  • Shared spiritual journey of child and parent

  • Connection with other families who are at the same stage of their spiritual journey
